I come from Michgan to retire in NY and I have a Michigan CCW, it is not honored so I lose all my handguns for a year and half! It takes me another 5 years to get a NY state CCW and now I am 70 and I cannot even travel back to my home state of Michigan which honors my NY permit but Ohio does not. What is wrong with this picture?

    • Richard,
To be frank, it’s disgusting. The concealed carry laws in this country are a disaster. Regular, law-abiding citizens are put in jail for going into states like NJ and NY b/c they were unaware of the CCW reciprocity laws for those states. When people are being murdered on a regular basis, cops are arresting and fining regular people who did nothing wrong other than being unaware of complicated, ridiculous laws? It’s crazy anymore. Anyway, I’m sorry to hear about your troubles with NY … you’re surely not the first. They have a history of stomping all over the 2nd amendment over there. If there is anything we can help you with, please let me know.

      -Matt D.
